The following information is provided to help in selecting courses to complete the University Core Degree Requirements and the Mechanical Engineering Curriculum Elective Requirements.

University Core Curriculum Requirements:

Communication: 9 hours Mathematics: 6 hours
Natural Sciences: 8 hours Technology and Applied Science: 3 hours
Humanities: 3 hours Visual and Performing Arts: 3 hours
Social and Behavioral Sciences: 15 hours

**Certain designated courses may simultaneously satisfy the Multicultural Requirement and either the Humanities or the Visual/Performing Arts requirement

**Students can request approval in other areas by contacting the advising office in the mechanical engineering department.

**The 9 hours of department electives can be satisfied (without prior approval) with any junior or senior level courses from: College of Engineering, the College of Business Administration, and the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Geo-Sciences, Math, and Physics without prior approval.
